SUMMARY:

We have an immediate opening for a Mergers, Acquisitions, and Construction Project Manager in support of the largest non-profit healthcare system in Texas. The initial duration of the project is four months, with possible extension up to one year. Geography to support includes the College Station, Waco and Temple areas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the success of merger, acquisition, and construction projects, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule, on budget, within scope, and meet the quality and standards of the customer
  • Involved in managing business stakeholders and conducting project management activities, as well as analyzing, synthesizing and solving issues that arise during execution
  • Provide IT solutions that meet the customer’s needs while conserving business resources
  • Work independently and accept full responsibility for the success of small to medium sized projects as well as key components of larger scale projects

DUTIES:

  • Lead a team of IS technical resources (tech leads) from IS Departments/Teams (Enterprise Field Services, Core Infrastructure, Network Services, Telecom Services, Epic Build, Epic Run, All Scripts, other applications as necessary)
  • Coordinate efforts of the IS project team, with Construction Design Staff, Clinical Staff, Administration Staff, Facilities, BioMed, other staff, and other project stakeholders
  • Conduct project discovery with Clinical Staff, Administration Staff, Construction Design Staff, and IS assigned technical resources (tech lead) through OAC meetings, teleconferences, site surveys, and 1:1 conversations to develop the IS project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Request, collect, and prepare IS project estimates with input from IS departments and teams. Provide this estimate to the Construction Design Staff and represent IS in any project budget discussions
  • Create and manage the scope, cost, schedule, and quality of projects
  • Monitor, and report on status of IS project work to all Stakeholders
  • Inform, address, and mitigate risks and issues (IT related and Construction related) with Project Stakeholders
  • Leverage prior experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices
  • Manage project stakeholders throughout the project in order to assure implementation best practices are followed and communication channels are effective
  • Solve problems through collaboration, analysis and creative thinking

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work in austere environments, construction sites, areas that are not ADA compliant, non-standard office environments
  • Good spatial reasoning skills, experience with design schematics, blueprints, as-builds, etc.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure design and installation in a project management capacity
  • Experience working with customers to provide IT solutions that fit work flows with minimal resources
  • Experience in applications development, business analysis, and/or support of healthcare information systems in a project management capacity preferred
  • Experience/familiarity with health care facilities, organization, and work flows preferred
  • Experience managing organizational transitions, data migration, software conversions, network assimilation/integration
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal
  • Ability to influence others and drive consensus to a particular point of view using logic, data and experience
  • Experience planning and designing cable pathways/data drops
  • Ability to communicate assignments and due dates in a clear, professional and concise manner
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients with a variety of personalities and goals
  • Experience translating complex technical concepts into language that can be understood by non-technical personnel
  • Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving, using collaborative techniques to identify project problems and implement solutions
  • Experience with change management processes, both for deploying projects as well as managing changes to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Experience working with / developing IT systems architecture: Application/Hardware interaction / requirements gathering
  • Knowledge of project management principles, techniques, monitoring systems and software needed to manage multiple projects
  • Should have knowledge of PMI® processes
  • Project Management Certification is preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office applications including Project, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
